AR 218 Hotel

Located at the heart of Colonia Condesa, the project rescues an existing Porfirian-styled house listed by INBA due to its historic quality inserting a boutique hotel composed of 21 suites that are suitable for long-term stays.

The house holds the hotel’s public-domain functions such as the reception area, administration and restaurant. The suites are distributed in 4 different volumes of 5 levels that are arranged in a scheme of voids and solids allowing light and air to flow through green patios.

Different strategies were developed to mitigate the project’s density. The views that came together were resolved by introducing sandblasted blinds, allowing a light reflex to leak into the back of the patios. Water elements were placed to create a white noise filter in every garden, each one being adorned with a unique proposal of aromatic plants.
