Corporativo Prisma

This corporate project was awarded for its contribution to creating accessible spaces and for its architectural concept, materialized on Insurgentes Sur Avenue in Mexico City.

The corner location of the building and its triangle-shaped land piece were key factors in the structuring process. Two glass plates run parallel to the streets forming both sides of a triangle, enabling to maximize a better natural use and to create distant views of the city’s main roads thus providing a sense of orientation.

The plates rest on a solid platform that is made up of two height levels. In the closest corner to Insurgentes Sur Avenue 1647, the platform is tucked forming a double-height covered space, embodying a pedestrian square in which one can access the building’s main lobby, as well as other commercial premises there located.

A fountain was deliberately designed in order to provide the public square with a sound environment, as well as to separate and filter the urban flow that grows from the vehicular crossing, with the intimate activity and life of the plaza.

The Project creates a symmetry, a visibility and a mild glass-effect in its surroundings granting the city a public square and a benched fountain.

Complying with the habitability standards of an architectural space, Corporativo Prisma invites its users and the city’s inhabitants to interact with the building in a free and natural way.
