Corporativo OrigamiInsurgentes Sur 1458
Following the new tendency around Corredor Insurgentes, the project quadruples the useful area and doubles the height of its setting, resolving a historical scale issue by separating two bodies and therefore allowing to fragment the massiveness of the resulting volume.
Due to its sustainable nature and its fascinating interplay of volumes, Corporativo Origami was awarded at a national competition.
The Project operates at three scales. At an urban level, the composition serves as a cubic sculpture with assemblies and intersections. The volumetry of the building is broken up to create terraces and hanging gardens.
At a local level the inferior cubes are aligned with the existent structures around Insurgentes.
Finally, at a pedestrian level, the cubes are reduced even more to transform themselves into a commercial area.
The different volumes of the building also create a large-scale urban room which is the heart of the cultural and commercial activity of the complex, housing lobbies, businesses and living and contemplation areas which have now become part of the public space.
