Torre Mapfre

Mapfre Tower
Paseo de la Reforma 243

Paseo de la Reforma is Mexico’s most iconic avenue. Its splendor took place in the Porfiriato era, a time where Mexican architecture was deeply influenced by European styles, particularly by the French one. The houses of the Mexican upper classes therefore established their architectural identity.

Celebrating its patrimony, Mapfre Tower is considered to be the 10th tallest building in the country and Casa Guichard constitutes this project’s DNA.

The tower’s building quality and design have been modernly reinterpreted in a different scale to preserve the urban aspect.

The tower is made from a granite stone in the manner of a lattice which refreshes the building and gives a visual weight to it. The details enhance the massiveness of the stony elements which create a contrast with the lightness of metal and crystalline elements. The building fosters urban life due to its cultural and commercial vocation displayed at the ground floor level. In such abstract and global times, it is essential to prioritize the concept of being and existing, as well as the social life behind it.
